Steven Tseng is a highly accomplished professional and Deloitte’s Transfer Pricing Practice principal. With over 28 years of experience, he specializes in advising multinational enterprises on business transformation, tax, and financial advisory matters. Steven is a valuable member of Deloitte’s National Global Strategies Group, where he focuses on restructuring transactions, clients’ lifetime events, and strategic priorities.
Throughout his career, Steven has held critical positions at prestigious organizations. He worked at PwC in various locations, including Washington, D.C., Tokyo, and Boston, and later joined Goldman Sachs in New York. He was the partner in charge of KPMG’s Financial Advisory Services in Finland and became KPMG’s China/Hong Kong and Asia Pacific Transfer Pricing leader. In 2011, he rejoined PwC to lead the Global Value Chain Transformation network and was seconded to PwC’s Shanghai office. 2014 he returned to New York to lead PwC’s Asia Business Center. Most recently, in 2020, Steven joined Baker McKenzie as a Principal Economist in its North America Tax Practice before joining Deloitte as a Partner/Principal in 2023.
Steven’s dedication to education and philanthropy is evident through his involvement on various boards and committees. He serves on the board of Tuck Business School and chairs Tuck’s Asia Pacific Board. Additionally, he co-chairs the Asia Pacific regional committee for Dartmouth College’s Capital Campaign and is a member of its New York regional committee. Steven is actively engaged in the Museum Advisory Council of the American Museum of Natural History and serves on the board of the Hood Museum at Dartmouth. He also contributes his expertise as a Finnish-American Chamber of Commerce board member. In the past, he chaired the Tax Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai. He participated in its annual delegations to the U.S. Congress in Washington, D.C., from 2009 to 2013.
Steven is a recognized expert in his field and conducts technical training for authorities in Asia and Europe. As a public speaker, he frequently shares his knowledge on transfer pricing, valuations, and restructuring. His exceptional work as a tax advisor has been acknowledged by the International Tax Review (ITR). Furthermore, he has been honored as one of the Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business by the Asian American Business Development Center.
Steven holds an MBA and a B.A. in Economics from Dartmouth College. He is also an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) of the American Society of Appraisers.
