Hawa Taylor-Kamara Diallo
Ms. Hawa Taylor-Kamara Diallo (aka Aunty Hawa) is the Chief of the Civil Society
Unit at the UN Department of Global Communications.
Ms. Hawa Taylor-Kamara Diallo (aka Aunty Hawa) is the Chief of the Civil Society
Unit at the UN Department of Global Communications. She has extensive United
Nations field and headquarters experience in public information outreach and
fostering civil society partnerships, particularly on youth and women’s
organizations.
Ms. Diallo began her United Nations career in 1987 in the Department of Public
Information (known now as the Department of Global Communications) and has
served in two United Nations Peacekeeping Operations in Cambodia and Somalia,
respectively from 1992 – 1994.
She has also worked for the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-
Habitat) at the United Nations Headquarters in Nairobi, as an Associate Human
Settlements Officer and a Partners and Youth Officer, where she managed
strategic partnerships and designed and implemented empowerment
programmes for communities in informal urban settings.
Ms. Diallo is a national of Sierra Leone and the United States of America.
